Case Study — Barristers’ Chambers
£40,000 increase in Direct Access revenue by month 2
A leading London chambers was turning over a small fraction of the Direct Access family law market.
Working within the strict rules that govern how barristers may promote themselves, we built the visibility and authority that made them the obvious choice and grew the revenue stream more than tenfold in year one.

The Brief
A leading barristers’ chambers in London asked us to explore ways of developing their Direct Access services for family law. Despite their standing, they were turning over only a small fraction of what the marketplace offered, and wanted to build this into a genuine revenue stream within chambers.
The challenge wasn’t capability. It was visibility: the clients who needed them simply weren’t finding them first.

The System We Deployed
Regulated professions can’t market like consumer brands, and shouldn’t. Every layer of this system was built within the advertising restrictions of the Direct Access Scheme, around a single strategy spine.
The Spine
Strategy
This was not the first chamber we had represented, so the regulatory boundaries were already well understood.
The work began by identifying their particular areas of interest, family law and the alternative family and defining exactly what chambers wanted the campaigns to achieve.
Layer - Signal Outreach
First, where it matters
The chambers now rank number one on Google in London for their specific areas of interest, and number one nationally for other areas of particular interest.
When someone searches for exactly what they do, they are the answer.
Always On
Refined, month after month
The campaigns are continually refined and improved, now in their second year with Propria, a managed system that compounds rather than a one‑off project.
Layer - Website & Conversion
Campaigns built on expertise, not noise
The campaigns were developed specifically for the client, reflecting their niches, voice, and goals, and were compliant with the Direct Access Scheme throughout.
Authority in a regulated profession is earned by demonstrating expertise, and that is what every piece of the campaign did.
The Results
£40k → £420k+
Direct Access revenue in the first twelve months was more than tenfold.
No.1 in London
On Google for their specific areas of interest in family law.
No.1 nationally
For other areas of particular interest, visibility far beyond London.
The results speak for themselves - and they keep improving, because the system keeps running.
